I started a new job recently and I know exactly what they mean in #2. Everyone was celebrating hitting a big quota, and they were discussing really nice bonuses and everyone was so happy. I'm just sitting in the corner hoping they will be doing more bonuses like this that I can actually get in on.
If all you celebrate are the 'wins', you disincentive people from taking risks.
