Neuralink’s plans for brain-reading ‘threads’ and a robot to insert them

  • How many healthy (no disabilities or diseases), mentally well adjusted (smart, capable, making good choices in life) people actually want to perforate their skull and route wires into their cerebral tissue?

    For free, probably a conference room full of people, from an array of countries.

    Now, how many are there, interested in paying thousands of dollars for it? I'd guess maybe less than five a year.

    From what I'm observing, there's much more hesitation with this bold move, than other shifts in technology, because there's no "collector's item" materialism built into this one. It's body modification, closer to boob jobs, piercing and tattoos, hot iron branding, sex organ removal and botox. It's not like flame throwers, fast cars and rocket ships. It's not clothes, shoes and handbags.
