Video terminals at Slovenian Computer Museum: VT52/100/220/320/420/510 and more

  • Holy crap, I spent endless hours back in the 80s in front of this VT220: https://i1.wp.com/www.racunalniski-muzej.si/wp-content/uploa...

They were connected to a VAX/VMS mainframe cluster at 19.2kbits.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Hey, I'm also from Slovenia and wanted to do the same thing for my private collection.

A month ago, a guy in Maribor had (maybe still has?) a non-working DEC VT101, a working Gorenje Paka 3000 and some terminal printers, but he didn't want to sell anything separately, so I didn't buy anything from him.

I have a feeling you know of him.

  • This new museum reminds me of the Binarium, a small (1000sqm) computer/game console museum in Germany. https://binarium.de/

  • Very cool. I look forward to visiting it soon.

Some of these old serial terminals can do real graphics but the whole topic is rather obscure (which makes it more interesting i suppose).
