I don't agree with the framing here. Comparing OpenShift to K8s does not make a lot of sense because Kubernetes is part of the OpenShift stack. It's kind of like comparing Linux to Ubuntu. OpenShift is basically a bunch of operators deployed on top of K8s that turn K8s into a proper PaaS. Without OpenShift you bring your own authentication integration, logging, monitoring, etc. It's better to compare OpenShift to EKS or AKS than it is to K8s.
