The only way I'd ever pay for chatgpt or use it for real is if all communication with it was encrypted from the start. For the kind of sensitive information going back and forth for the kind of real world projects these technologies will be used for it makes sense for ChatGPT to encrypt it all even from itself.
What happens with counseling CGPTs? If someone tells a chatbot therapist they cheated on their husband and that data leaks who pays for it?
Why do you consider it better to consult ChatGPT than to consult Google?
(OK, maybe it's easier, because Google gives you multiple places to look for the answer, and ChatGPT gives you only one. On the other hand, you get multiple answers from Google - if one of them is wrong, you have a way to check. If ChatGPT is wrong, you have to go somewhere else to check. (Or even if it's right, but you need to be sure...)
OpenAI have actually asked this question in a survey (not sure if still live), with respondees being incentivised to be on the premium beta. I'd pay $50-$100 pcm per seat for it
The company that made ChatGPT is being sued for global copyright infringement. Why the hell would I reward them for that???
Hah, nice try, Elon!
Not a chance.
No
Right now I would not; not only does it make errors, it literally makes up references, book titles, etc. to "justify" some results. It's nearly a pathological liar at present.
