Microsoft, GitHub, and OpenAI ask court to throw out AI copyright lawsuit

  • > lack of injury and lack of an otherwise viable claim,”

Ironic since those argument also apply to software piracy but I'm sure that since the defendants are very wealthy, this will go the other way this time

I'm in favour of the ML use but the double standards are obvious.

  • Oh sure - when copyright is a problem for them (Microsoft), "throw it out" they say.

When it's their IP, they come knocking on your door with lawyers.

GitHub shouldn't even be on the list. They are owned by Microsoft, as is OpenAI.

So maybe just "Microsoft asks court to throw out AI copyright lawsuit"

  • From "Tom and Jerry": This shouldn't happen to a dog, say dogs.

It would be very interesting to see how the law will be applied.
