Chroma Doze – Open-Source Customizable White Noise Generator for Android

  • I can also recommend Binaural Beats - https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.github.axet.binauralbeat...

I'm sure the somewhat mythical claims about the healing power of noise are over-stated, but it does provide a more interesting set of noises than Chroma Doze. Excellent for long-haul flights and crappy commutes.

  • It's probably not a good idea for a long run, but my daughter for a few years now is put into sleep with noise generated from the app. It was a life saver for us, to help her get to sleep. Otherwise we are too loud for her, or neighbors. I put the preset to a triangle starting high on red and low on violet. Also options to a delicate amplitude pulsing.

It is also very helpful to go to sleep if it is too loud also for adults.

It is a perfect app for me.

  • Those screenshots (on Github) are a throwback. Haven't seen holo blue in a long time.

  • Love this app.

Don't miss the recent discussion documenting "NeoStore [1], which is an alternative frontend for F-droid" that auto-updates (and a couple other options):

  • Great, simple app. When my tinnitus hinders me from going to sleep, I turn on Chroma Doze and that will mask the ring. Luckily, I don't need it often. And yeah, it can also mask other noise.
