  • Talk to people in your network.

    Everybody you have worked beside, over, and under.

    Ask each of them about other people you might contact.

    Ask those other people about other people you might contact.

    And cold call.

    And ask the cold called about other people you might contact.

    And keep in touch with everyone you talked to (write everything down).

    Finding work is more important than doing the work.

    It's also most of the work.

    And the hardest work because most of what you will hear is "no."

    Success is the number of times you heard "no" today.
