Taylor Swift fans causing record-breaking seismic activity during Seattle shows

  • I like the commentary from the interviewee that science happens everyday and comes from empirical observations; that it’s not reserved for people in labs with white coats.

  • I live in Pioneer Square, which is walking distance to Lumen field, and I can confirm the two Taylor Swift events were the loudest events I’ve heard from the stadium. Louder than any other concert, sporting event, and even louder than the monster trucks. The crowd was awesome. It was cool to hear and the energy of everyone throughout the day was infectious.

  • Bruce Springsteen almost broke Gothenburg's Ullevi arena in 1986, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ullevi#Music

  • There's this one party somewhere down in Zion that could've greatly benefited from a Swift performance.

  • Yes, but have they ever caused structural damage to a building, like Streetlight Manifesto fans once did?!

  • Record-breaking for human/technology-generated activity. Earth still rocks harder than Taylor.

  • Isn't there a story like this for every major concert or sporting event, and then a day later they print a retraction that no, it wasn't an earthquake or anything like it? Happened in Philly for both the World Series and NFL playoffs.
