A mere ten years after the Holodomor, I imagine Ukrainians weren't very picky about their allies in fighting the Russians. We have only ourselves to blame - for a century we've glossed over Soviet crimes [1] (Quick - how many Hollywood movies can you name dealing with gulags and purges and man-made famines? Now how many can you name about the Holocaust?), so now we have a public who thinks they were basically good guys with a failed economy.
