I love music and good sound but didn't know how to enjoy Spotify with my setup. I have an older hifi amplifier with great speakers and I was searching for a way to stream Spotify in an easy way. For a year now I use an old Pi3 with a HifiBerry dac.
I installed HiFiBerryOS [1], which includes Spotify and works OOTB. The HifiBerry get's recognized by Spotify apps on your local network. It is not a bluetooth streamer. Your phone or laptop is only a remote, once the music plays you could disconnect, the music will play forever...
So if you never heard of it and don't know how to how to make good use of your old analog amp... have a look! :)
