It definitely feels strangely snappier on iOS than before, but the whole structure is just random now, not that it was particularly great. It is oddly reminiscent of those early smartphone apps with tabs at the bottom before everyone noticed once you have a level of hierarchy involved something like a burger menu makes more sense. As it stands this seems like there are way more presses needed to get to where you want - but this may be a side effect of using it mainly for group chats and not the whole server-thing which they clearly want everyone to use.
Discord always managed to confuse the lower part of the screen with keyboard or camera state more than other apps, so putting their main navigation down there is a brave move.
