Ask HN: Getting back into networking and attending events

  • I'm the same boat as I was skimming through meetups. I'm in the S.bay and aint interested in trekking to SF with no promise of anything meaningful.

ping me if you're interested in a chat over coffee. My boss is with his 4yr peers at preschool so free-ish.

I think my info popups on my username.

  • Question for everyone else- how have tech related meetups recovered in your city?

In Chicago I find they're still sparse, still nowhere near the level they used to be since the lockdowns threw everything off.

  • Find someone else to go with. It becomes much easier to commit and actually do it.

  • Stay in San Jose! There are some pretty awesome events happening in the South Bay - albeit not as much as SF proper:

I built http://fogcity.events/ to help me find tech events around the Bay, hope it's useful to you too.

  • Start with your prototype first. Have something to show, something to get feedback on, and potential allies and customers.

Make "launch my startup" not an event, but a process spanning a few months at least. Ease into it.
