Any PN junction is sensitive to light. It's why diodes and chips are in opaque packaging (unless interaction with external light is intentional).
Raspberry Pis from around 2015 can be crashed with a flash of light from a xenon bulb, as the packing on a power supply chip was not opaque enough.
