I had a career transition a few years back where my day to day became exclusively computer work. I don't know if this is exactly what you experience, but I definitely had a problem with eye strain and myopia. I made all sorts of adjustments: dimming the screen, always being in night mode, using computer glasses, and taking regular breaks to look away (actually setting a timer to remind me every 30 minutes). I think those changes greatly improved my symptoms.
I switched to an e-ink monitor earlier this year, never turning back.
I still have to use my laptop screen for video calls and anything involving color graphics/animation. But the vast majority of my work is text (chat/browser/editor) which renders well on e-ink. Being able to work with natural light has reduced my screen time to less than an hour a day - and my nervous system thanks me. Best investment I ever made.
I’ve been able to mostly manage mine with a heated dry eye mask and occasionally eye drops with hyaluronic acid. I also did Lipiflow one time, maybe 1-2 years ago. I have MGD, seems like the obstructive kind but I don’t know that for sure.
