Ubuntu feels less interesting now that they screwed up LXD.
They still have non-FOSS drivers and multipass going for them, but nowadays Debian feels like a better and much cleaner option.

I used to follow along ubuntu development pretty closely, being excited about each release. Now nearly 20 years on from the original release of Warty Warthog, they've really earned my trust with LTS releases in particular. I've never had an issue with a server running an LTS release that wasn't an issue with the provider, not the software.
Nowadays, I rarely even check the updates to them. When I spin up a server the latest LTS is just my default.
