Ask HN: Where the heck are the junior Full stack positions

  • My daughter is having the same issue. She has almost 2 years experience and is very good at selling herself. But she is being pushed back for either not having enough experience to hit their requeiment, often 2 years or she gets to the final round but is usurped by people with ‘way more’ experience. She has been a manager is her previous career and comes with other really useful skills. There are very very few pure ‘grad’ positions out there and those that are asking for say 2 years experience min are being flooded with applications from people with a lot more than w years. Agree with the other poster that this will bit the industry later but I’m more worried about now for her. There just simply aren’t enough roles out there for whatever reason.
