I’ve been trying to detach from it, but with so much history, it’s hard. My attempts have mostly created fragmentation and confusion. I’m now checking 3 inboxes.
Gmail works fine as a service, it’s the company behind it (and how they make the money to fund it) that I don’t like. I think I’d need a few months off work to really get off of Gmail, and even then, I’d probably monitor it for a few years before actually deleting it.
I had 3 or 4 other Gmail account that I recently deleted. Though 1 is still pending, because Rockstar and Sony both make it impossible to delete/close accounts.
My account turned 20 last week.
