Definitely better to delay than to faceplant after what just happened with Intel. Glad they openly stated they were having a quality problem - AMD has a history of sticking their foot in their mouth and I didn't want to see a repeat.
Here's hoping the end product is good in August! I'm itching to see how the 9800 X3D (or whatever SKU it is) ends up performing, given how great the 7800 X3D has been.
Delaying this a little while is better than having CPUs mysteriously give errors after a few months.
I'll probably get a 9950X when the next GPU generation comes out. I hear the three big PC GPU vendors will be launching GPUs at the next CES.
This also may play to their advantage by delaying the release and review embargo until after Intel delivers their microcode patch so they can have reviews of 9000 series performance stacked against an voltage-capped Intel generation.
