Threatening to or actually removing federal funding is one thing, but this is absolutely bizarre:

The federal government has no business trying to claim control of an academic department in a private institution (nor in public but state-owned institutions).
I don't understand why they are even trying to bail out Columbia. Cut off its funds and let the university either fund itself via its endowment or die.
And where will all the right leaning folks concerned about the Twitter File's government suppression of speech be? Silence.. guaranteed silence...
Because they don't actually care about freedom or speech. Just their own speech.
