I haven’t seen what this is about since it’s a video. But Torvalds hasn’t had much involvement in the Git project itself since (random cutoff) 2010 or earlier.
One example of a recent feature was `--date=human`. That patch was in fact taken across the finish line by another person, Stephen P. Smith. It doesn’t look like it links to where Torvalds posted it originally.
