I have been going through the Shopify app development process and it's similarly painful. Being restricted on the tools available for the frontend is the most annoying thing.
That said, the trouble is worth it because B2B app marketplaces are great for distribution and generating quick side-hustle income. I'm happy platforms have the put effort in to create them.
